Online collaborators

I have posted a blog like this this a few times without much response.

But...there seems to be a lot more people talking about it nowadays so I was wondering just how many NWB'ers do their own home recording stuff and would be interested in doing some online collaborations.

You'll hear the the track the myself and Jeni have done for the NWB cd shortly and that was all done by sending emails with mp3's and wavs back and forth.

The track is called Holding On, and having recorded my own crud for the past 10 years, I wanted to try something different. See if I could write and produce a song that didn't sound like all the usual stuff I was churning out.

So I told Jeni to picture the song she wanted in her head.
Mood
Feel
Tempo
Structure
Intention
Subject

And to put it all in an email to me and I would try and write a song to fit her description of what she wanted.
She then wrote the lyrics and recorded the vocals and harmonies.
And you'll hear the result on the NWB cd lol

Whether you'll like it or not is another matter and yes I know I'm not the best producer in the world.
All it is as a couple of saddo musos having a great time recording some music and exchanging idea via email.

If anyone else want's to get involved then please give me a shout.
I'll post the track on my own myspace site once the NWB cd comes out and you can all have a listen.

cheers

Scott

Nice idea! I'm not the most creative person in the world when it comes to lyrics/riffs, but if you have something that's an almost complete project and you'd like some female harmonies adding to, or maybe even some piano I'll have a look at it for you :D

comedy parody lyrics seem to be my thing if you want to go down the humorous or satirical road for fun songs.

I'm always interested in collaborations, especially with singers/lyricists.
I'm working with a lyricist at the moment, but everything seems to be boy meets girls stuff.
Would like to hear from anyone with something a bit different (particularly prog/story orientated).
