Venue Review - The White Hart, Burnley

Well lets start the ball rolling then! Band review of a venue.......

We played our furthest gig yet at The White Hart, Burnley last Friday (7th August). After a 160 mile round trip we were a little knackered to say the least!
Ken and his staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, even down to making us cups of tea! We were a little scared when we saw the size of the stage as there is 5 of us and a hell of a lot of gear...but it fitted, and we weren't cramped.
We went on at 10pm, and played til midnight, a 1st for us, we are used to doing 9 -11pm. But the crowd there were fab! We had a few dancers, Ken, Weasel and mates. The people in the pub were some of the friendliest we have encountered, and we have made some new friends since! We play a few venues regular and see the same faces at the gigs, so playing a brand new venue 80miles from home was daunting to say the least. But even though the place wasn't packed to the roof, it was pretty full (we were up against Ride On the following nite!), the people enjoyed the nite and we had some good reviews from them, even down to one guy offereing to carry gear for us!!!
From a bands point of view its a really good venue to play at, the sound quality is good (no low ceilings), the crowd are appreciative and enjoy live music. The dog Lester is fab!! We left a guitar stand and that is being posted...how fab is that!!
I would recommend this venue to other bands without hesitation, the staff, Ken and his wife...you are stars!!

yeh its a good gig, reference size of the stage, i usually get my bass amp off the stage by the door on the floor next to the pool table, the punters can still get past to the fire exit and toilets and it frees some stage area up, but most of all, the bass resonates right through the pub, i even had to turn down a little, makes more room for ya guys.
