Was it worth the Journey?

We played this place last night and I'm not convinced it was worth the journey out to Stoke?
There was a respectable and appreciative crowd in but only because there was a private party going on!
Without those party goers it would have been quite dead!

To be fair it is a new'ish venue it's run by Carl who used to have the Gardeners in Oldham.
So may yet turn into a good venue to play?
It's a good sized place and you get a prime positioned raised area to perform with sockets either side.
Drinks are a bit expensive and there's no free ones offered?
Carl himself did not bother to honour us with his presence or even say hello which
was odd after he had pestered me for weeks to do the gig?
But one nice touch, one of the bar staff came forward at the death and thanked us saying it was a great night?
Nice to get that from bar staff who must get sick to death of noisey bands while they're working?
Did that make it worth the journey?
Not for me I dont think!

If you fancy the journey!

Sorry the gig wasn't everything you hoped, but well done on a nice factual informative blog.

It's a straight one this Mike!
I think the "we were shit" thing has been over played now?

It was'nt so much as not being everything we hoped for but more of a "was it worth the trip out there" thing!
Our bassit and drummer had an epic journey to get to this gig so realisticlly it needed to be more than just an average gig!
but it was'nt!

You get good and bad with everything, we have done the epic trek thing a few times, but we have been lucky (so far anyways). We have done local gigs like that tho, and without the private parties!! There is a pub Holywell way that was exactly the same, in fact we only saw people when they left the pub for a ciggie, we looked at it as a payed practise....cos even if we had made mistakes they wouldn't have noticed :)
