Review by Blind Justice

Played the Hindley last nite at very short notice due to illness.
What a place!!!! We found it eventually, after the sat nav wanted us to go up several one way streets the wrong way! When we got there, we were very excited at the amount of space we had been allocated, and we had a fantastic welcome form the bar staff. We set up, sound checked and then met Dave and Dee. What a couple they are, full of fun and obvously seasoned pro's in putting on bands. They even broke the fans out for us, as it is one of the warmest pubs we have ever played at :)
We were told that the 1st half would probably be quieter, but to us that wasn't the case! We have played 2nd spots to less people :) The crowd were with us from the 1st song, and stayed that way right to the last. A fantastic bunch of very friendly people, and again we made lots of new friends....who we will look forward to seeing again. They even stayed with us through a dire rendition of Aerosmith, which for reasons known only to the bassist was not the best we have ever played it (ha ha)
Your after gig touches, Dave and Dee, are very welcome and a first for us. It ranks amongst the top nights for us. As for recommending it, I will recommend it to eveyone I know!! I can see now why you have some of the best bands in the area there, and I just hope that this continues for many many more years for you guys, you deserve it!!

near desaster to success, that all i can descibe saturday. after a cancelation on friday night ( genuine reason. hope he is ok ) panic station !!! hindley arms with no band ??? fear not blind justice to the rescue. it was a superb night in the making. then water water every where, free showers for the customers at the back of the room. dee had gone upstairs and left the tap running with the sink plug in. well it is a warm pub so we thought the crowd wanted cooling down. like blind justice said hindley crowd got behind them from start to finish and a fantastic night had by all. thanks sarah and the rest of the band for stepping in, looking forward to seeing you next year. oh yes,and wrecked - you creep ?? never

i agree with everything said above regarding dee and dave and the hindley arms. They are one of the best venues around for us rock bands, great place, people and atmosphere, long may they continue. . .

totally agree with the comments, if a few venues had followed Dave & Dee's example maybe they would still be with us.

Funnily enough, I first agreed to join the group (The Roadrunners) that became The Kerbcrawlers after going to watch them at The Hindley Arms some years ago. Then we had a very good run of gigs at The Hindley Arms with The Roadrunners.

Then the band line-up and name changed, the pub closed for a while and since then, we haven't actually got ourselves booked in again - maybe next year?

There is only one word to describe The Hindley Arms and the people in it and that is "AWESOME" and thats no Bullsh*t, and we don't have to creep cause we're already booked there for next year
Wrecked

well maybe a little creeping. Hey the competition's getting tough out there! ;-)

I joined The Roadrunners in 2003 and did two years with them.
We ended the Roadrunners with a final show with Riff Raff at The Moses Gate (that was before Ian T joined them) in Oct 2005.

The Kerbcrawlers have been going ever since at about 60 -70 shows a year.

Just been back to the webpage on a disc for 2003...
I came to see The Roadrunners at the Hindley Arms after Ian James rang me. The date was July 26, 2003.

I have PM'd you a list of our dates since then. We'd go down well at your venue.
