Do you have a set list......
....and do you stick with it? Or do you just go and play whatever in whatever order? Views appreciated...
We have a set list but we need one because we're still new-ish and we'd probably forget what songs we know if we didn't have it written down! I think it's always safe to have one, but if you have loads of material it's prob still a good idea to make a note of your staple songs and then just throw in whatever you want depending on the crowd!
Yes, we do have a setlist...and if you find it, can you send it back! b-bum!..No, we don't have any order of songs as such. Just the odd couple that go together nicely, but generally just "go with the flow", and mix it up all the time.Andy
We have a set list or we'd forget what songs we have. *dribbles* It's kind of flexible though. We know what are first set and second set songs. Sometimes we "train" a song in the 1st set, and move it up to 2nd set if it turns out to be strong enough.
We have a set list with a couple of optional songs in each set plus a list of reserves to drop in in various places. The songs are put in scientific order, every month or so, to accomodate good starters / finishers, guitar and bass changes, plus accomodating 4 voices.
We always use a setlist, but I was interested to see what everyone else did. I have seen a few bands with no setlist, and it seems to work for them, but I don't think it would work for us. We do the whole 1st and 2nd set songs...building toward the end.
We have a set list, but it appears to be only for the singers amusment? We prepare to do the next song and he say's were not doing that one yet! But if you ask what we doing next he'll say "wheres your set list" Singers are my f a v o u r i t e member of the band!!!
pmsl at gordons comment just here yeah the doggies have a setlist, and we stick to a lot of it, moving around here and there, i like to try and weigh the 2 lists pretty evenly, i hate it when bands puit all their best stuff in the second and all the average stuff in the first as some kind of warm up
we have a setlist that we pretty much stick to with International Rescue as the keys player needs to set up sounds, dots etc.with Dean Casement Trio, we have no setlist and usually ask the audience for requests and end up playing different songs every gig - usually 3 or 4 we have never played before. keeps us on our toes!!!
We also have a set list that our guitarist always leaves at the front of the stage so all the punters can see it. I always have to snatch back of them cause they start moaning at the fact we don't do Bleedin Sarah.
You dont do Sarah?? That's one you gotta do for the girlies! der der der dare dare dare der der der dare! see! even I can do it!
@ Twin Lizzy Oh come on, you gotta do Sarah, if I come to one of your gigs...which hopefully when your close enuff I will, you gotta do that one!!! Sarah x
Oh no, what have I done. I seem to have opened a can of worms, eh Sarah.
Roj, I hope you have more luck getting the Twin Lizzy lads to play Sarah than you did with Renegade! ;o)
F"*kin NO change.
der der der dare dare dare der der der dare!
We like cans of worms......
Which of the two Thin Lizzy songs called 'Sarah' do you not do? !!!
Both.
We tried it without a setlist once, and because we're all clutterbrains, we couldn't remember what songs we actually do, so it's best to try and write em all down (for us anyway) haha
Set lists always worked for me (even if the order was constantly changing). Its the requests from the crowd that always got me tho. No, were the band, the juke box is in the corner sweetheart
