Do you need a PA and Sound Guy?

I'm offering my services :-D

I have to buy out the other guys' share of the PA from Without Reason so I'm looking at ways of trying to come up with some additional dosh to pay them off as soon as I can.

Would any of you guys consider paying for someone to come down with their PA system and do your sound for you?
How much would you be happy to pay?

Just putting out the feelers :-)
I probably won't end up doing it, but if there turns out to be a demand I might.

Not the greatest PA system in the world but for most pubs and clubs it does us fine.
We always put the whole band through the desk just to get a nice even sound.

20 channel Behringer PMP5000 1200watt Desk with 2 monitor channels and effects
2xPeavey Full Range UL15's + Stands
2 powered monitors and a passive monitor
30ft multicore with 12 channel stage box
Superlux 3 piece drum mics + clips
Sennheiser/Shure mics + leads
NJD Quartet Lights with foot controller

sorry if I'm treading on any PA hire companies toes but needs must :-)

Yeah Ben, I seen Stev'e comments, but I wouldn't be able to commit full time if you knwo what I mean. I would only be able to do certain dates that we're not gigging.

There's not a lot of cash available for PA hire at this level Scott!
Why not get another covers band going your a really good guitarist so should be able to get something going pretty quick?
Or you could design a few websites and sell em off to the bands on here?
Or what about some dep work on the gob? I'd give you a go when Tetley's off on his yankee travels!

You could always get yourself a red light and hang out on street corners. You might earn more money that way, but then again looking at your pictures you might not. (only kidding).I heard George Michael hangs around the public loos in and around Chorley!!

yeah I know there's not a lot of cash about and I ain't really expecting much from it. Would probably be aiming more towards the younger originals bands who haven't got a pa etc.
It's just an idea.
Wouldn't charge much, prob about £20-£30, it all adds up.

As for the website stuff, sod that, I hate it. I can only really do relavtively simple sites anyway.

Looks like I'm gonna start up the home PC support thing again. It's fekkin awful going to people's houses trying to get partypoker.com running on a windows 95 machine with 32mb ram and a smell of p!ss and burnt toast. lol

still, there's money in it and at the moment I could do with getting this PA paid off asap.

As for the suggestion about joining another band, I just don't have the time to commit to another band, plus, I'm not a singer. I'm just pushed up front to shout along to metallica songs...give me a melody and I'm fucked pmsl

yeah but there's a difference between balling "searchiiing seek and destroy", compared to doing a Bruce Dickinson number or AC/DC or the like. Plus, I wouldn't know what to do with my hands...oooh er :-)

Thx for the offer anyway :-D

We sometimes have original bands on and the cost of P.A. hire and sound engineer is one of the reasons we don't do it much, so we could definitely be interested some time Scott...
