Possibly the best Music shop around...

First of all I don't work for them!

Went in yesterday to replace my ageing Elixir Bass strings for a couple of gigs at the weekend but they'd ran out of them. I decided to try the Ernie Ball coated ones (slightly cheaper than Elixir at £30)..

Gets in last night and starts putting them on (don't you just love the twangyness of new strings!) and *SNAP!*, The damn 4th string breaks as soon as tune up.. And then Lyon equalised against my beloved Liverpool 1 minute later! Fuming isn't the word!

Pops back to Curlys today to see if I can grab another E string from them but they'd ran out of the bloody same strings!! Anyway, a very helpful chap by the name of Paul recognised me as a regular customer and decides to phone the manufacturer explaining what had happened and could they send a replacement string (he had mentioned I'd migrated from Elixir to them).. Hey presto, 2 mins later they're sending a packs of the coated strings in the post as a Gratis.

Ended up buying a set of standard Ernies as a backup, so when I get the replacements on Tuesday I'll have 2 packs of spares now!

Quality!

I've dealt with them a couple of times. They seem like a good bunch. It's a cool shop too.

The Warrington branch is on Bridge St. They have taken over another music shop.

Might be worth duplicating this thread in the Play Pen. Then it will stay visible. It's good to have recommends like this and be able to find them easily.

the Warrington shop was "Aardvark Music"........... Paul & Austin both worked at Curlys years ago and left to set up the shop together......

After nearly ten years Austin had got married and and got a son and emigrated to Oz earlier this year but not before selling his shop to....... Curly's!!!....... Paul is now working back at Curly's..........

I used to do their guitar repairs until Curly's took over and then used someone from their Liverpool store i think........
