I know this has been discussed before but I wasn't paying attention!!

The AKG Guitar Bug thing looks to be favourite cause theres no having to strap a transmitter to youself but has anybody tried the Line 6 one? It's supposed to have superior sound quality to the rest! but is it true?????
anybody!!!

Gordon Ive used my samson airline since 2003 without any issues what so ever or loss of tone, I cant coment on other systems , I wouldnt hesitate to recomend the samson system,

I've looked at that one but must admit to being a bit dubious of the Samson brand!
I'm normally a firm believer of "why spend all that money on top gear only to put it through a week radio signal" but I'm warming to the idea hearing good reports from people who use them!!
The line 6 one has caught my attention with it's claims to "Superior sound quality"
Has anyone tried them yet??

im as fussy as it gets about tone , but the airline has adjustable output gain as well as a led that shows peaking, and the transmitter has a -15db pad in case your guitars pickups are to much output for the reciever, best bet boroow a couple and try them in a gig situation

Another vote for the Airline here. Been using it for over 4 years now. It's better than the AKG I had before it.

was that the AKG Bug Mick??

It was before the bug existed G. It was a belt pack. Not bad but not as clear as the Airline.

my vote goes to airline too, cheap as chips AAA batteries that last a good 4 gigs and a very clear sound to boot

The airline one sounds like it's good bit of kit!
Would still like to hear from someone who's used the Line 6 though?
Max, I know your selling them, but do you use them and how do they compare to the others??

another one?
It's getting harder to justify spending twice as much for the Line 6?

I was looking at the line 6 wireless G. looks a cool piece of kit, small receiver thatll fit right at the side of a pedal board, the transmitter would clip onto your guitar strap..and it runs on VHF if I remember rightly so no interference from Berts taxis or anybody elses wireless system.

Yeh it use 2.4 ghz the same routers for computers so will not be affected by new legislation they're threatening introduce [are'nt they always?] that'll restrict use on certain wave lenths that are currently being used!
But it is twice the price of the Samson which is getting rave reviews from our compatriots on here!

I don't, as i'm Frontman/singer/guitarist so theres no point unless i get a vocal headset mic too..........

But you get what you pay for........... I tried one of those AKG bug things a few years back and they were sh1te! Very bad........ Poor quality and poor sound too

Gordon; Have to agree with all ther positive comments re the Samson bug .... grooverman is right when he points out the 15db pad, it can be useful ......
Again I've used it for 5 years now, no loss of tone or signal problems, always well pleased with its performance !!!!

Just like the other posters, can highly recommend it. Cheers

get an x2 wireless system on e bay from USA, not even launced in UK, it a brilliant bit of kit, I have one and you get no signal drop at all, its as good as any cable, the reciever is a floor pedal so it goes in your footswitch box on the floor, cost you a couple of hundred quid inc post, tax etc

Hi Gord, the one I have is a Samson Airline AF1 - the Strat style Bug, the AG1 is for Gibsons
Got mine when they were on special offer at Sounds Great, Cheadle near M/CR Airport.

I'll have a look at the X2?
I was wondering what the differance was between Samson AG'S and the 77 series?
Is there anybody using the 77?

There's a couple of X2's, the top one has the same frequency range as the Line 6 but with 5 times the operating distance so looks like a serious peice of kit!

Just realised the X2 is the American version of the Line 6 relay which is available in the UK! so that explains the similarity!

I use a dedicated Ashdown Firebass jobby !, ps G . still got my JTS UHF System

Also guys
I am a licensed Radio Operator, ie , i know the bands that are now currently used etc.

Stay clear of older Vhf tx gear , the Gov is selling the band off all over the shop

UHF is still the best to buy , make sure you can tx and rx over 430 Mhz pref around 435

G the new 2.3 Gig systems are great , but do have some probs as its way up the band with sattelite Freq, Routers and Tx's,Cctv Tx etc etc ,
Microwave bands have only been really available for the Gen public for about 2 - 3 years , and the Gov has allready overloaded the sthe bandwidth to rake in the revenue ,
So its true they really fave started taxing free Air

We used to jest that they would tax our poking?
then they invented STD's to make us buy condoms "that they tax"
So taxing free air had to be on the cards dinnit!
