I use Cubase on my PC.. takes a while to get your head round some of the features but my m8 runs his pro recording studio (Studio Monkeys,Woodend Mill,Mossley , thats a pint you owe me Daz! ) on it so any probs I have or any vst instruments I need are sorted with 1 phone call .If you wanna go top dollar try Sebelius..bloody expensive and really only useful if you want to develop and print out orchestral scores..use mine for film soundtracks

Cubase every time. Like kev says takes a while to eeek out the best it has to offer but well worth the trip. Their are others out there. FL Studio,Logic etc but Cubase has the edge.
Pc or Mac? Hmmm depends very much on who you ask that one.I run PC's and no issues.

All depends on the user?
I use Cubase SX which suit me fine!
dead easy to use and a very powerful tool!
But Cubase VST can be a headache until you've spent many hours getting to know where everything is!
Logic is also excellant but I'm not fussed on the layout of it!
So it's just a matter of personal taste between Cubase SX and Logic!
but I'd give Cubase VST a miss unless you've got plenty of time on yer hands?

I use the SX version, Sound is rubbish! Classic case of 'Garbage in =Garbage out lol. Seriously tho, even I can use it, its reasonably straight forward and user friendly AH.
