Band related Niggles & Arguements

Whats The worst !

What causes the most in your band ? is it ...

money ,
lack of dedication .
someones to loud .
allways you who drives
His mikes better than yours , etc etc etc

Lets face it there are plenty to choose from ,even if its the most petty argument to a near band split

Just thought i would see what others think in either their current band ,or a band you was in

Trig

PS,No need to name past bands or even current ones ,for fear of another argument lol

PPS. Love and Good will to you All, inc Daleks

one of the Night Train line-ups fell to pieces over van ownership. I bought it for around £500 and the saxplayer gave me £50 towards it.
I sold it to the bass player but the sax player still reckoned he had a share (he didn't I'd paid him off)
He reckoned he owned the tyres and as such we had to wait for him to finish supping before we could all go home.
Finished up coming back to Bolton from a gig in Southport (somehow via the Trough of Bowland!!!!!!) with sax and bass player having a huge drunken brawl in back of van (4am).
Got pulled by moorland police who just wondered what we were doing up there (we didn't know)..saw the fight going on in back, but didn't say a word about it and let us carry on LOl

This is easy. We don't argue at all. We get together every monday or wednesday for a jam (cos pop songs don't rewrite themselves).

We take our own sound man with us and make sure that out front mix is good.

We don't have the need to have our backline roaring like fuck.

We enjoy entertaining people and (more importantly) we know that putting money over a bar is far more important than we are at a pub gig.

I am in the lucky position of being in a band with my four best mates so we don't tend to have many cross words. We all love the songs we play and agree on lights and sound. All rather boring really.
Best wishes
John

Asked one of our previous drummer to play a drum beat we heard on the drum machine one week when he couldn't rehearse. Did not go down well at all, don't know why!!!!

we once had a disagreement but admitted it was totally down to personal preference as to what thickness of plectrum is best. Thats it really, no fall outs in 4 years and counting

the fix never have any petty disagreements...

there are differences of opinion on things like what tunes'd be good to play, or what music we should stick on in between sets, but that's all part of being in a band and coming to an agreement about what you do... nothing remotely niggly

there aren't any differences in terms of dedication, money, volume etc... we're all on the exact same mission - to keep moving forward & get bigger and better

although I like to argue with Ben on here, when it comes to the band we're all singing from the same hymn sheet

I left my last band because one guy kept telling me to turn down all the time... I turned right down & it sounded like a shambles without me grabbing it by the scruff of the neck dragging it along, so I quit... got sick of being bossed around and not being appreciated for my contribution... in The Fix, i'm valued & not treated like a hired hand... we hang out and are mates... I compare that to my last band where the 4 of us were never in the same place unless it was on stage

In previous incarnations ... money splittage was the main one. Someone in the band (although not professional musicians at the time) needed money for paying mortgage etc... and i aint whiter than white in all this cos i was that soldier at various points. The poor bugger who was saying "No we need to save for a new monitor always used to get the grief"- bless his sensible little shoes.
