Start of a gig / break? / how long? / banter inbetween songs? / encores?
As we've got some time on our hands now till Ricks NWB do, we've been thinking about the little things that could possibly make our gigs a bit more free flowing and professional. So I have a some questions which I'm interested to hear feedback from:
1. How long before you start do you set up your gear?
2. Do you soundcheck with a song thats in the set?
3. Do you always start a gig with the most well known songs?
4. Do you stop after the first song? / or play the first few then your singer speaks to the audience?
5. Does your singer introduce every song?
6. How long is long enough inbetween songs...drink, wipe down etc keeping auience waiting?
7. Do you mostly do 2 sets or 1 straight through?
8. Do you always do an encore? / How many? / When is enough enough?
9. If you do encore how do you make a definte stop between last song of set and encore...leave stage area etc?
10. Should there be a clear agreed routine before gig as to structure or do you make it up as you go along?
Be interested to hear your thoughts.
