I use a Line 6 Flextone II 1 x 12 with the 1 x 12 extension cab. Very versatile, great range of sounds. Some people don't like Line 6 (or indeed modelling amps full stop) but I honestly think I'd struggle to get a similar sound without forking out some serious cash. You need the floorboard to really bring these to life.

Not tried the Flextone III but would expect it to be similar, if not better. Tried the Spider and didn't like it, not as versatile, didn't sound natural at high volume and fed back a lot, more of a practice amp IMO.

yeah had a flextone 3 2x12 for a short while , during a marshall combo service and found it really good, id recommend those , good amps

the new spider 4's are supposed to be just as good as the flextone 3's, line 6 is great company gets better and better

id suggest you give a roland cube 60 a blast Rob it as a dual rectifier setting on it thats great, built in chorus, delay, reverb, flanger acoustic simulater line out and extension speaker output etc , if you want to borrow mine for a couple of days let me know its a knockout for the price

i have a 5150 combo, love the rhythm channel (big fat rock/metal tone), hate the lead channel though (sounds thin and harsh, not as much volume as rhythm channel either) this renders the amp as being none too versatile, did you find this with yours?

i found the 5150 combo wonderful had one years ago,and had a 6505 head a coupla years ago, careful eq setting i find with that one, sounds best with the mids up a bit(which is the opposite to my marshall stuff which i have the mids around 4), had one in the early days of hare of the dog too(6505/5150) head and found it a bit agressive for that kind of music(although it was used on the HOTD demo and sounds very very phat) but now of course it would be ideal for metalleeka
