What is everyone doing for Christmas?

That's not an invite to "Chez Social"!

Just to dispell any rumours that I'm not human and do not advocate fun and frolics, I thought I would start a nice, fluffy, non-controversial blog to see if we can get some love flowing through the community.

For me, this will be my first Christmas without my parents (awwwww). It's ok, they're still alive, they're just going away this year instead of coming to mine (wooo hoooo). I was expecting a nice quiet one, just me and the cat pulling crackers on Christmas Day. Me with a turkey dinner for one. Him with his turkey Whiskas (no expense spared).

Instead it's my first Christmas with my new girlfriend and it should be a cracker (pardon the pun!). I'm off to Blackpool on Christmas Eve for a night out with friends. Usual family run-around on Christmas Day morning before heading back to mine for a slap up, all the trimmings turkey dinner. Queens speech. Shit sitcom chrismas special and lots of booooze.

I'm hoping to get out and see a few bands as well in the run up to and during the festive period. All in all, I'm getting quite excited now.

Come on then....what you all got planned. Don't be shy.

mr and mrs nwb haven't warned you about me and the "c" word, have they, st? i tend to "go off on one" bigtime! "bah humbug!" is putting it mildly!! turkey-you can "stuff it"!! xmas cards? invented by some victorian print magnate to extract more cash out of people by making them get stressed out about missing someone off their list.
i could go on, but i won't! comercialised claptrap-iffen the nazarene prophet was here on earth today i'm sure he'd be doing some serious butt kicking at what is peddled in his name!! and-tiny tim was a feral youth!!

Christmas at the Welly

Do the family thing in the morning
Open pub at 12 kick out at 3 then closed for the day
Aahh, but not everyone goes home, for the last few years here they have had a jacobs join so we have about 20 or so regulars who all bring food and stay for dinner.
This is only our second Xmas here, but what a good day, as soon as everyone has eaten our friends to the washing up and put away and then they take it in turns to do the bar work for the rest of the day and night so me and Darren can have the day off.
We have music, leftovers, beer and Wii. What more could you ask for?? We might even try and form our own band this year with the Rock Band World Tour game and then you can all come and watch us for a change :)

And then on NYD we do the whole jacobs join thing again but for everyone and we stay open its great.

23 days and counting Yeah!!

Stuffing on crumpet.....not sure if I'll be getting any of that, sounds good though.

Despite being a bit of a humbug I'm actually looking forward to the festivities this year.

I will be sunning my backside in Luxor, Egypt on Christmas Day, but will be at the Fleece in Ashton on New Year's Eve.

The rest of the group will be p**sed up as usual, no doubt!!
