Quiet night for M.E.S at the Wheaty - any body else have a quiet gig this weekend?

Where have all the punters gone?

Is it all those pre-Christmas work parties, X-Factor telly, making every penny count, that's understandable in these times...wherever it is the Wheaty was pretty quiet, probably no more than 20 people all night. Thanks to the people who came down to see us. We played well, got paid, tested the new songs and 'Ginger' Vickers tried out his new Tama kit, so not complaining just looking forward to the next gig. It is good though to have an audience to interact and create a vibe, and I have noticed a couple of other bands have had similar experiences this weekend.

Cheers

we were told that the first weekend of December is always poor pre Xmas etc...plus boxing was on for all often seconds,so sporty bars would have pulled a few in

The Wheatsheaf in Alty has always been a couple of dozen people at most.

ours wasnt so much lacking punters but more like needing having some more younger ones amongst them, they had music playing until we started playing, ok you might think !, it was all 50s and early 60s stuff, blue rinses everywhere, about 10 younger ones amongst them, granpa simpsons everywhere, we broke into sex on fire and there was a look of puzzlement on all there faces you live and learn dont you, just counted it as a paid practice lol.
