The night it all went right

Best gig ever

Hi all.

Whatever type of band you are in, there must be one night where the Gods of music smiled on you.

You remember it, the crowd were great, you all played a blinder and got six encores. The venue owner booked you back for the next ten years.

Share please :-)

Mine was this year in the "home" of Genesis at Farnham.

400 plus Genesis fanatics in singing their heads off and we played stunningly well if I do say so myself.

The feeling after that gig will stay with me always.

Best wishes

John

last gig we (The Fix) played was one of those... it was at the Roebuck in Leyland

it was good because:

we played well
we could all hear everything well
ryan had bought a new drumkit that day and it sounded 10x better than his old one
it was a venue we'd never played before
the landlady came up afterwards and said we were "awesome" and booked us for 4 gigs in 2010
lots of musos were in and checking us out... had some blokes about 3 foot away watching my fingers all night (lol)

all in all, it felt like an away match where we managed to put 5 in the net

and to top a fantastic night, we stopped off at Marigolds to get drunk and watch The Kicks... top night - the sort you remember for ever

We played at the Cirencester Rugby Club Beer Festival a few years back, you know the score: bottom of the bill on the last day when everyones knackered! Well we could do no wrong and just tore the roof off the place!
The very next year: top billing on the saturday night and we did it again! We even had crowd surfing!!!
Since then we've been incredibly lucky to have been asked back every year (we've even played a number of private parties for the club members down there too!)

Check out the videos on our website and see for yourself!!

Quite simply the best feeling and buzz in the whole world!!

Sounds amazing John
I would have to say this past Saturday at HRH, its what we'd been building up to all year. An official Marseille are back launch if you like? It was nice also that all the attending media wanted to talk to us after the performance as we had nothing scheduled beforehand! All of a sudden we're being whisked off to the press are and it's like "SHIT where have you guys been hiding all these years?"

I shouldn't leave out Wolfpack!! I think for me at least that would have been the 2 Limehouse Lizzy supports we've done at Bolton Albert Halls, the last was a sell out! As we're from bolton, and so is Wayne of Limehouse, it was great to see the place rammed for our support set! The week after we did a free gig in bolton and it was a lockout!

See my blog on 'If Carling did gigs'

Marigolds - and we get to do it all again a week on Friday!!

(Gutted though, cos I've just had to pull a gig at The Roebuck due to being away!)

Played on the same bill as Eric Bell in front of Philomena Lynnott in brimingham in 2006 with my old Lizzy trib Renegade. Best gig ever, went down a storm, played well, fanatastic reception from the audience. Awsome.

I keep saying this but, the Marigolds gig we did Sept 08 was probably one of those gigs. We went on just after midnight and the place was full and a lovely bunch of girlies dancing all morning at the front of the stage.
I drank that much Red Bull before the gig - thinking I would get tired, I couldn't get to sleep when I got in - could have played there til 5am !

Rick.
