Powered PA Speakers

Which One's??

Hi, we're looking to invest in some powered pa speakers and we're wondering which one's to go for. We're a quite loud and heavy band and need the vocals to come through clearly.
At the moment we use Peavey UL's with a Peavey PV1500 power amp but the sound is always a bit muddy and doesn't quite come through the mix.
I was looking at the Mackie SRM450's. ANy suggestions???

Cheers
Steve

Think you will find Mackie's get the nod. They are probably considered the industry standard these days.
We use RCF's and they are fantastic.
Have also heard some Alto PS4's and they were bloody amazing. A lot cheaper than either Mackie or RCF.

Mackies get my vote..think Alec from Night Train had some for sale.
EV's are worth a look . We had some top of the range Skytecs and they were great, really clean sound.

I've just bought some Behringer B-215A powered speakers. 450 watts per channel and really clear sound. We put everything through these, drums, guitars and vocals as well.
If your budget doesn't stretch the the Mackies, give these a try or the Mackie Thumps which are budget SRM450's.
