About

Ramshackle are a four piece guitar driven blues band.

Ramshackle are

Simon Noble - Guitars and vocals

Played guitar for over 30 years in well-respected bands all over the UK. The Children, The Conrads, Naked In New York, Outland and 5000 Days. Founder member of Route 666 (lead guitar, lead vocals,) who, between 2000 and 2011 were one of the biggest rock/blues/R’n’B bands on the UK gig circuit. They released the albums Let It All Out, Talk To The Hand, Money Murder Love and Scandal! all of which heavily featured Noble’s original compositions.
Supported the likes of The Pirates (with Mick Green rip), Midge Ure and the Wilko Johnson Band as well as headlining festivals in their own right. Writes and records his own material and will gladly sell it to anyone who wants to buy it. Too many influences to mention but will be more than happy to discuss these matters with anyone over a real ale.

Andy Lewis – Keyboards and vocals

Originally a brass bandsman playing with the Redgate Boys Silver Band from St. Helens and is still to this day a qualified examiner for The National College of Music & Arts in London. Over ten years he played hundreds of local gigs and toured Norway,Belgium and Holland. After an initial heavy rock phase in his teens with Hazard and Rawhyde, Andy also enjoyed many years, thousands of transit van miles, hundreds of very late nights and early morning motorway services breakfasts playing keyboards in cabaret bands Zenith, Skin Deep and Rio. Along the way he played alongside Gary Barlow, Rick Astley, Jan Cyrka, Johnny Marr, Peter Frampton and saxophonist Slim Read.

Having not played a note on anything for many years he realised that he was missing out on something when his youngest daughter started playing bass and gigging with a 3 piece blues rock band. So he decided to start playing again and initially set out with with visions of becoming the next Blues guitar icon but quickly settled back behind the keyboards thanks to Primetime, a Liverpool based covers band who helped him massively to find his form again. Multifarious influences include Jon Lord, Albert Collins, Sammy Avila, Dwight Yoakam, Jimmie Vaughan.

Craig Robinson - Bass Guitar.

Craig Robinson started playing bass when he was 13 “because an older bloke who lived next door needed a bassist and he talked me into it.” He fell in love with it straight away and has never looked back.

A thoroughbred rocker from his early teens, Craig says his main influences come from his love of heavy rock which has stayed with him to today. Bands like Black Sabbath, early Queen, Uriah Heep, Ozzy Osbourne and, later, Mr big and Queensryche all of which had stunning bass players with Bob Daisley and Billy Sheehan being the real stand out ones for him.

Craig formed his first band at 17 with Jason Simmons and the imposing figure of “Uncle” Leslie Nixon. They did the Belfast rock circuit for a couple of years before big Les emigrated to Canada. After receiving an unexpected phone call, promptly followed by an even more unexpected plane ticket, they embarked on a tour of the Canadian tribute circuit as White Spirit, “a Whitesnake rip off” which ended after a year when the ‘big hair’ metal scene died a sudden death.

Craig then turned his attention to rocking The Blues with Belfast outfit Black and Blue fronted by Billy Miskimmin (Nine Below Zero, Stiff Little Fingers, Yardbirds), followed shortly by a stint with the Red Hot Roosters, a 50's Rock n Roll band with Alastair McKenzie (Suzi Quatro, Temptations, Randy Scott) before heading over to England and settling in Liverpool where he has played in numerous Blues and Rock bands including Roadhog, Hustler and Gypsy.

Peter Thomas - Drums and Vocals

Peter has an incredible pedigree. He has played with Colin Paul & The Persuaders, PJ Proby, The Swampstompers, Lurve Brothers, The Drifters, The Animals, Wayne Fontana's Mindbenders and MANY more... full resume coming soon!

Peter plays Premier, Pearl and Ludwig drums

Keith Blackledge's review of Ramshackle at BJs Rock In The Blues Club July 2015

On their return to Chorley RAMSHACKLE took to the stage and performed a fabulous show with a mix of covers and original works. Simon Noble fronts the band on lead guitar and lead vocals, with Andy Lewis on keys and vocals, a busy rhythm section are Craig Robinson on a mature sounding bass, and John A Hilton on drums, these four cracking musicians make up Ramshackle one of the best live bands playing on today’s circuit. The selection of covers from the likes of Bill Perry, Walter Trout, Bernard Allinson, The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Johnny Lang, and Eric Clapton certainly set the scene, the second set would have to be something special, and as it turns out it was. B. B. Kings “Thrill Is Gone” opened the second set, a fitting tribute to a great Bluesman, “Lie to Me” by Johnny Lang, Susan Tedeschi “Little By Little” with more covers from Bill Perry, Freddie Kings “Tore Down” “Leaving Mood “by Toronzo Cannon, with other covers by Otis Rush, Junior Parker, Oli Brown and several original numbers starting with “Little Angel” “Mad Man on my Mind” “Blind Date with the Blues” “It’s Over” and “Long Way Home” superb works by Simon and the band which you can listen to on sound cloud. The crowd shouted for more and the band obliged with Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Tightrope” and “The Road Never Ends” from Mike Zito. This was a brilliant show by a band that puts the ROCK into the BLUES nothing ramshackle about the bands performance, exceptional.

Keith Blackledge's review for RAMSHACKLE @ BJ's 'Rock in the Blues' Club, The Minstrel, Chorley - 31/July/2014

Ramshackle are a four piece blues band from the Northwest, driven by frontman Simon Noble on lead guitar and lead vocals in his gritty style. A master on the guitar and slide guitar he set the pace as they made their debut here in Chorley. Over the last twelve months the band have been busy gigging and writing new material which they are putting together on a new CD, a work in progress. This should be finished before the end of the Summer, but with their busy schedule, they have hit the ground running as they say.
Andy Lewis on keys, is a nugget of a find and brings to the table a wealth of experience with his solos and interplaying with Simon were brilliant also his vocals on “May Be I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney, was refreshing and clear. Next the rhythm section, this well-oiled machine put its foot firmly down and as a pairing did the job. with Craig Robinson on bass guitar and backing vocals with superb play on “Matchbox” by Jonny Lang. On the drums John A Hilton again brilliant work on “Come Together” by the Beatles. This was a blues band on fire with other covers from Bill Perry, Walter Trout, Robert Cray, Susan Tedeschi, and two original works “Mad Man on My Mind” and “Long Way Home” cracking stuff. Ramshackle are a band that has grown in stature and matured, I saw them in Preston over 15 months ago when they first got together and they have come on in leaps and bounds, as I knew they would, nothing ramshackle about this band. Fantastic!
